About Me
I am a senior at Duke University interested in Computing Education Research. At Duke, I am advised by Prof. Kristin Stephens-Martinez.
My honors thesis evaluated the relationships between student modality, discussion, and learning from peer instruction in a hybrid computing course, while my ongoing research projects respectively:
- Examine how an ecological belonging intervention impacts CS1 students' exam performance, sense of belonging, self-efficacy, engagement in course activities, and persistence in the major.
- Determine whether the context of a programming problem can trigger stereotype threats in introductory programmers and how it impacts students' performance and problem solving processes.
After graduating in May 2025, I will be pursuing my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, advised by Prof. Amy Ko.
During my graduate studies, I hope to design culturally-responsive pedagogy, learning technologies, and curriculum that are sustainable in larger courses.
